I know that the nether has its own set of rules , but I don't see how you can get away with making traps intentionally for players and just take their stuff to use or sell it

Yes, Bah, but if most want the rule to be changed, why not? Looking at the votes it seems that most (including me) do, and while there might be a compromise to still make the minority happy, it should, by principle, favor the majority.

Look, if this is gonna be allowed in the nether - it might as well be addressed officially by staff. Keep in mind it is the SAME inventory as survival - It has the SAME impact on people as if they died in survival. If this is going to be used as an utterly horrifying loophole to make profit, then this should at least be addressed - no one states that you are allowed or you are not. The rules arent clear - And if it is gonna be insisted on being kept, then at least change up the nether inventory and death system :p.

There should be a way for people to mine quartz with peace, rather than only able to mine quartz with risk. That way those who want risk are satisfied, those who don't are also. Just think about it, SAs. You can choose between satisfying two groups and satisfying only one.

On the one hand, I do agree that traps aren't great.

However, on the other hand, there are reasons why they are allowed in the nether.

The nether is a dangerous, chaotic place. This is what the staff intended. The nether's rules working the way they do is so the chaotic people have a place to blow off some steam, without messing up the overworld. When you enter the nether, you accept the risks associated with it (a notification pointing out the special rules of the nether when you enter the nether would probably be good, for new players' sake).

It is stated within the /nether rules that the listed rules are the only rules of the nether, and that it is a dangerous place. Maybe it could use having that first part be more obvious, because it does kind of blend in, but besides that, it is properly stated.

The thing is, nobody would go to the trap allowed nether if there was an alternative. Nobody would want to trap the trap allowed nether either if nobody was going there. The nether is supposed to have some inherent risks associated.

So what? You're trying to destroy freedom of choice. If people indeed choose that way, that proves that many want a no-trap nether.

The nether isn't somewhere you need to go. It took me a long time to even ever go to the nether when I first joined CV. So I would say, no, that isn't messing with freedom of choice. You have the choice to not put yourself in danger. Nobody is forcing you to go to the nether. If there was a nether without traps, of COURSE people would go there. Even people who want traps in the nether would go there, since there is no risk. When presented with risk + reward or no risk + same reward, of course you will pick no risk + same reward. The nether is meant to be a risk, with some rewards.

You know what? Traps actually add an element of thrill, therefore I take back everything I said against traps, however, items should still be returned to the victim when asked.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having an opinion about something, but there is no need to be overly rude and hostile directly towards someone that has a different opinion. Period.
